Abstract:
The study employs BAEMIN’s panel data from a city in Vietnam. The empirical models are based on labor supply theory and the newly established behavioral theory of reference-dependent preferences. We model labor force participation sample self-selection bias and income rate endogeneity and identify numerous exogenous shocks as instrumental factors to mitigate these biases, as well as empirical evidence of flexible workers' income-targeting behavior in e-hailing services.
