Abstract:
The analysis results show that the current status of MOOCs in Vietnam does not meet the demand and supply in higher education in the country because MOOCs lack support from the government and are not oriented for development following the law of supply and demand. On the other hand, the study also shows that although MOOCs have not yet developed in Vietnam, with the outstanding advantages of MOOCs, it is suitable to be a solution to the inadequacies of the current Vietnam higher education. Finally, by presenting the international experiences of three neighboring countries, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand, the paper proposes policy implications so that MOOCs in Vietnam can develop and change the landscape of higher education and online learning
