Abstract:
Electricity tariff serves as the bridge between key actors in the power market, including independent power plants on the supply side, consumers on the demand side, and the Governmental whose role is to regulate the power sector to meet its designed responsibility in providing reliable and affordable electricity to the economy. The Government of Vietnam has long established a legal framework for power sector reform and guidance on electricity tariffs. To explain the role of pricing policy, the author applies a theoretical framework underlying the average weighted retail electricity tariff formation with integrating variable renewable energy in the energy mix.
